Beauty shop

I found this pretty beauty shop in the 13th district of Budapest. For me it's relaxing to stand in front of the window of this kind of shop and looking at all the small bits and pieces.

Romantic dinner

One evening I came home and this was waiting for me... romantic, healthy, nourishing dinner - avocado, fresh salad, bulgur, roasted vegetables - with a glass of  red wine. I'm so lucky to have a wonderful boyfriend! :)

Red Vespa

I love Vespa motorbikes especially after seeing Jude Law riding on Vespa in the movie, Alfie. This red one just caught my eyes right in the street. Love the red colour on this photo.

The trailer of the movie...

Herbs on shelves

I like going to Vapiano because they have wonderful green fresh herbs - basil, rosemary, mint - everywhere in the restaurant. You can help yourself and season your dish with them.

Parliament

This is a photo of the Hungarian Parliament on the bank of Danube. Országház (Hungarian Parliament Building) is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube, in Budapest. It is currently the largest building in Hungary and the largest Parliament in Europe.

Budapest was united from three cities in 1873 and seven years later the National Assembly resolved to establish a new, representative Parliament Building, expressing the sovereignty of the nation. A competition was published, which was won by Imre Steindl, but the plans of the other two competitors were also realized, facing the Parliament: one serves today as the Ethnographical Museum, the other as the Ministry of Agriculture.

Construction from the winning plan was started in 1885 and the building was inaugurated on the 1000th anniversary of the country in 1896, and completed in 1904. (The architect of the building went blind before its completion.) There were about one thousand people working on its construction in which 40 million bricks, half a million precious stones and 40 kilograms (88 lb) of gold were used.

Pumpkin "balls" with mashed turnips & potatoes

During autumn and winter pumpkins and squashes are my favourite vegetables. Love it so much and very healthy. It contains vitamin A (beta-carotene), vitamin B1, B2, B3, B6, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, zinc. Pumpkins are very versatile in their uses for cooking. From these ingredients I made a divine dish: fried pumpkin "balls" with mashed turnips & potatoes. Yum!

Chain Bridge & Saint Stephen's Basilica

This photo was taken from Budai Vár (Buda Castle). You can see the floodlit Lánchíd (Chain Bridge) and the Szent István Bazilika (Saint Stephen's Basilica).

The Chain Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the River Danube between Buda and Pest, the western and eastern sides of Budapest. It was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Budapest, and was opened in 1849.

Saint Stephen's Basilica is a Roman Catholic basilica in Budapest. It is named in honour of Stephen, the first King of Hungary (c 975–1038), whose mummified fist is housed in the reliquary.
